Have you ever wanted to know the wealth secrets of the rich? How is it that some of the world’s wealthiest people today were able to discover those wealth secrets and build their wealth? Was it inherited or was it really built in one lifetime? Furthermore, is building wealth truly a possibility for your? Chances are at some point or another we have all day dreamed a little on how different our lives, as well as those future generations that come after us, would be if we were wealthy and if we could leave that type of legacy behind. What would that mean for your family at the present time and what would that mean for future generations. What new world of possibilities would be available?
The Common Belief and Strategy To Wealth Building
If you were like me, growing up you were told that if you ever wanted to make lots of money you were going to have to:
- go to school and
- get good grades so that you can
- find a safe and secure job
That was the only way that you were ever going to make lots of money. Well, chances are that by now you have figured out that your parents and others that shared that strategy with you – had it all wrong. Of course we cannot completely blame them. First of all, they didn’t know any better. They were told the same thing by their parents. and your grandparents were told the same thing by their parents. The fact of the matter is that “going to school to find a safe and secure job” is an industrial age ideology

which no longer applies in the new age; The Information Age!
Let’s take a look at a few of the wealthiest people of the Information Age. The first person that most people would probably think of right away is Bill Gates. Consistently ranked as one of the wealthiest people in the world, Bill Gates founded Microsoft in 1975 and is an entrepreneurial magnet, author and philanthropist. He was a self-made billionaire by the age of 32 and has since remained ranked as one of the wealthiest people in the world. How about Warrant Buffet? Warren Buffett, also known as the Oracle of Omaha, is an American Investor, Industrialist, and philanthropist. He is currently owner and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway and is also currently ranked the 3rd wealthiest person in the world. Last but not least, Carlos Slim. Carlos Slim is a Mexican businessman and Chairman and CEO of Telmex, Telcel and America Movil. He is currently the wealthiest man in the world with a net-worth of 60.6 Billion.
Immediately, we can see a commonality between the 3 wealthiest people in the world. They are all entrepreneurs and investors!
The True Wealth Building Secrets
So what are some of the wealth building secrets? Through much study, over time I have come to discover that the wealth building secrets are not really a secret at all. The so-called “wealth secrets” are no more than a completely different philosophy when it comes to money and learning. For starters the wealthy have a very different philosophy when it comes to school. They teach their kids to go to school, get good grades and to learn to build businesses as opposed to finding a safe and secure job. The fact of the matter is that the education system doesn’t teach you how to become an employer, it teaches you how to become an employee.
Another one of the “wealth secrets” is that the wealthy teach their children not to work for money, but to work to learn! Additionally, the wealthy are in a constant state of self-improvement and personal development. They are consistently working to better themselves and to help more people. Last and probably one of the most important of the wealth building secrets is that the wealthy have multiple streams of income. They achieve multiple streams of income by building businesses and by investing in assets. Businesses produce income and assets by definition have value attributed to them.

When I was growing up I was given that exact same advice from my parents. Unfortunately, for me I didn’t think outside the box. Now I have been laid off for 3 months and can’t find a job. It never occurred to me that our economy could take such a huge downturn. I thought about starting my own business once or twice but I wasn’t confident enough to take that first step. I believe if I would have known more about entrepreneurship I would have had the courage to take that first step sooner. Thanks for the link to New Generation Entrepreneur! I’m finally taking the first step.
Irene! Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately there are may college students and college graduates that are in the same situation you are in. It’s never late to become an entrepreneur. The important thing is to invest in yourself and take full charge for your financial future. Congratulations on taking action and not holding back any longer. You’ll soon discover that the greatest wealth is truly amassed during times of economic struggle. However, that wealth is only reserved for those that take action!

Hi Hector,
I completely agree with your point on school not teaching kids how to become employers, but employees.
In fact our whole education system (in my opinion) is geared to making “good employees” out of people.
It is a system that might of worked 80 years ago, but not anymore.

Hi Jesus!
Welcome to Internet Entrepreneur Connection. Thanks for taking some time to share your thoughts. You’re absolutely right! In fact, as you said the education system conditions us to think like employees; come in by a certain time, have lunch at a certain time, leave at a certain time work individually, etc.
As you can see, the conditioning factors that school gives us are all in preparation for the JOB!
I definitely value education, don;t get me wrong. In fact, I believe that an education is the most important investment you can continue to make in yourself as an entrepreneur BUT a formal education is what is a waste of time UNLESS you are pursuing a career.
Thanks for stopping by Jesus and I look forward to seeing you around more often! We could definitely use more insight like your around here!
