Entrepreneurship or Contract Work? You Decide.

Entrepreneurship or Contract Work?

Entrepreneurship is an avenue you should definitely consider after reading this article. Let me tell you why. How would it feel to have gone to school and earned a degree in hopes that you would land your ideal full-time job with a big company only to find that full-time work was not an option? Most college graduates don’t dream of becoming entrepreneurs right away. They dream of landing a job with a Fortune 500 company after graduation. Usually, it’s the large corporations the ones that have the best employment incentives, best benefits and can afford to pay the highest salaries to entry-level graduates. If this is your mentality, today that might change!

If you listen to the news and other media outlets, chances are you will hear a very optimistic view of the state of the economy. You will hear that jobs are coming back, the market is recovering, companies are hiring again and things will soon be back to normal. That could not be farther from the truth. In fact, things are going to get a whole lot tougher for college graduates, especially the one that don’t consider entrepreneurship.

No Full-time Jobs! Start an Entrepreneurial Venture

Recently, CNN released an article that made an astonishing claim and that could mean very bad news for many recent grads not considering entrepreneurship! According to CNN, soon many will have to Say Goodbye to Jobs with Benefits and settle for a contract job! Today, the unemployment rate is at 10% nation-wide and large corporations seem to be somewhat nervous about bringing back some of the old jobs! The growing trend among employers now seems to be replacing what were previously full-time jobs with benefits, with what are now contract jobs! In fact, in 2005 the government estimated that 31% of U.S. workers were already so-called contingent (contract) workers and experts say that number could increase to 40% or more in the next 10 years. Other experts believe that full-time workers could become the minority in the next 20-30 years leaving a majority of the U.S workforce without traditional benefits such as healthcare, paid vacation, and retirement plans. As you can imagine, this is having a devastating effect on college graduates, as now they are forced to work more, for less pay, with no paid time-off, and responsible for providing their own healthcare. This growing trend is not only transferring a bigger burden on college graduates but the option of only having contingent work is going to significantly impact the manner in which many college graduates will provide for themselves. Something, many simply are not prepared for.

Is Entrepreneurship the Answer?

Entrepreneurship may very well be the answer!  Whether you are a recent college graduate or a college student getting ready to graduate and enter the workforce – the best option is to start building residual and passive income through an online entrepreneurial venture.  An online entrepreneurial venture, specifically, is ideal for those graduates that may not have thousands of dollars to start a brick-and-mortar business and become entrepreneurs. Many recent graduates have already decided to look for an entrepreneurial venture and become entrepreneurs of this new age. Most have jobs but no, they are not quitting their jobs right away. Many are working their entrepreneurial venture from their homes, part-time after their day job until they can build a steady flow of passive and residual income. However, many are certainly aware of what their financial future might look like if they do nothing at all.

So what will you do? What will your way of life look like in ten years? Will you be working yourself to death to make someone else rich or will you be working with other entrepreneurs to make yourselves rich? Will you be loyal to a company that will not be loyal to you in return or will you seek an entrepreneurial venture where you will have an opportunity to build wealth? You get to decide!
